We refer to them as our welcome team. It seems to be straight forward and practical for new volunteers

We call them welcome areas and welcome teams too. It’s positive, descriptive and works for first timers who don’t know all the kidmin lingo yet.

We call ours the KIDzone Starting Point.

As far as your nautical/boat theme, perhaps you could somehow tie in using port, harbor or wharf in the name you choose.

for the record, we have a “welcome team” stationed at our “welcome tables” during our events. not much for themed branding, but it communicates those team member’s roles pretty clearly and gets the job done for us.

looking forward to hearing the rest of the community’s ideas on this one!
